Keystone Theatrics at The Playhouse At Allenberry Announces Auditions for Once the Musical!

Directed by Eric S. Mansilla

Stage Managed by Maria Petrilak

Keystone Theatrics is thrilled to announce the search for a group of well-rounded actor-musicians of any race, ethnicity, identity, body type, or ability to fill the cast of its 2022 production of the musical Once.

About the Show (from Music Theatre International):

“On the streets of Dublin, an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant are drawn together by their shared love of music. Over the course of one fateful week, an unexpected friendship and collaboration quickly evolves into a powerful but complicated love story, underscored by emotionally charged music.

Featuring all of the magical songs from the critically acclaimed film, including the Oscar-winning “Falling Slowly,” this achingly beautiful, joyously uplifting show strikes an unforgettable chord in audiences and speaks to the power of music to connect us all. A show like that only comes around Once. Source: https://www.mtishows.com/once

Find MTI’s casting information for roles in the show below. Please note that suggested instruments by character are based on casting in the original production. However, this is only a starting point. MTI has encouraged productions to assign instruments to best suit the strengths of the performers. (This does not apply to “Girl” and “Guy”.)

Similarly — in finding the best actors/musicians to tell the story Once, all races, ethnicities, identities, body types and abilities will be considered for all roles. No matter the show’s setting or the film or Broadway production’s casting, this is a story that can and should be told by anyone whose life has ever been impacted by the power of music.
