Have an interest in theater? Trying out for a play? Just looking to have fun while learning something new? Then this workshop is for you! Learn the basics of theater through theater games and activities. Learn blocking, stage directions, diction, characteristics of a good stage voice, and harnessing energy. This class will provide a basic introduction to the many aspects of theater such as who’s who in theater, the basics of acting, creating a character, and much, much more! The week will culminate with a free original performance for families and friends!

June 25-29, 2018 OR July 23-27, 2018, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with a culminating performance at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 29 or Friday, July 27

Designed to educate and enrich our 8-12 year old thespians, this one-week daytime workshop is intended to educate beginning and intermediate young artists who love to sing, dance, and perform. Throughout the week, students' talents will be fostered as they receive in-depth exposure to all facets of the theatrical world including costume and set design, learning professionally choreographed dance routines, exploring vocal technique, acting instruction, and more. The week will culminate with the production of the musical Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum, an original adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk!

This Acting Intensive is designed to challenge our 12 to 17-year-old artists with hands-on instruction at a higher level. Previous experience with theatre or other workshops is recommended. Throughout the week, participants will be exposed to all facets of live theatre, both on and off stage. The Musical Intensive will culminate with a showcase designed around the individual skills and strengths of our artists.

Live Theatre and Entertainment Return to the Allenberry Resort!
BOILING SPRINGS, PA. – Along with the excitement of a Grand Re-Opening, Allenberry is pleased to announce that the tradition of live entertainment will “take stage” July 2017, with the first theatrical production. A full first season schedule will include: mainstage shows, family series shows, workshop opportunities, and more.
Allenberry has reached an agreement with Keystone Theatrics to provide programming and entertainment at the Playhouse, as well as around the property, in the various dining locations and at events. Keystone Theatrics, under the leadership of Executive Director Dustin LeBlanc, a Boiling Springs native and Central PA theatre veteran, will provide high quality, diverse, and affordable live programming for the entertainment, education, and enrichment of participants and audiences of all ages.
Since The Playhouse opened in the summer of 1949, it has been a leading attraction and activity at the Allenberry Resort. “Keeping live theatre and entertainment at Allenberry is honoring tradition and will be great for the community,” says LeBlanc. Renovations to the theater are well underway. These include major building improvements both inside and out along with some restoration such as the original Box Office and the construction of a new concession stand and bar. New lighting and audio systems will improve the overall viewing experience and create the perfect theatre going experience.
