Show Description Source:

From Tony winners Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, creators of such Broadway classics as Ragtime and Once On This Island, this dazzling show transports its audience from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. On Casting
Based on dramatized source materials, writers McNally, Ahrens, and Flaherty weave a story that they (and we) believe is universal. With elements of historically accurate contexts, this piece is ultimately a work of historical fiction through which we intend to present a cast of actors representing any race, ethnicity, body type, or ability that has an interest in auditioning (whether those qualities align with their historical counterparts or not). The heart and soul of this piece is the balance of love and determination, longing, and belonging – with which we can all relate.

Roles Available

Anya, a lost soul, but one with great strength, pride, determination, and dignity. As the story progresses, she begins to discover her sense of self and the possibility that she may be the missing daughter of Tsar Nicholas II. Range: G3-F5, Belt to D5
